7. Seven Swans are Singing

It’s not really a secret that I’m not the biggest fan of playing Blue. The main reason is that I hate counterspells. Now I’m not saying that I hate control, as kill and bounce spells are some on most fun you can have at your opponent’s expense. But there is something about not letting someone even cast their spells that seems fundamentally unfair. However, there is one counterspell that I feel is not only fair but fits perfectly with the holiday season. Swan Song doesn’t just fit with the theme of the original carol, but when you counter your opponents Enchantment, Instant or Sorcery you don’t just leave them empty-handed. You give them something back, you gift them with a lovely little swan. Now it might not be the resolution they where wanting, but as they say ‘It’s the thought that counts’.
