Team MoM 1 Tix Commander: Episode 2 (with Special Guest Wedge)

Welcome back to our 1 Tix Commander series, were we play Magic’s greatest multi player format for less than a than the cost of an [mtg_card]Ionize[/mtg_card]. If you want to know more about this format and the series as a whole, check out our last episode here. This week Samuel Peters was unable to join us, so we had to look for a substitute player. Luckily for us we had someone available who knows a little something about building 1 Tix Commander decks. His name is Wedge, aka The Mana Source. You might have heard of him.

So let’s not waste any time and get right to the game.

Well that was a fun match and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! But what about those decks? Well let’s have a look at them.

Sebastian – Kaervek Hate

Sebastian decided that he really didn’t get to have a good go with Kaervek last time around (only playing around five minutes of Magic and all), so he wanted to give him another try. As you can see from the video he fared much better this time around, showing just what can happen if you leave the control player alone for enough of the match. Well done Seb. Now never play this deck again. EVER.

Abbie – Five Colour Allies

Abbie (like myself) decided to try something a little bit different this time around and built this super sweet five colour tribal deck. A huge fan of the plane of Zendikar, Abbie actually has a powered-up version of this deck in paper. The only question was could the mana base of a 1 Tix version support the deck? The answer is surprisingly yes, as Abbie rarely had any issues with casting her Allies. Fun how Abbie has less issues with a five colour mana base over her two colour deck last time.

James-Elves, Glorious Elves

Keeping with my trend of building tribal decks, this episode I decided to brew up with one of my favourite creature types. Elves have always held a special place in my heart, as they were the focus of my first Modern deck. My brew is a fairly standard brew, with lots of mana dorks to allow us to ramp up and over run the board. Shame for me Wedge didn’t want me to have fun.
